To reset the cache of the Google Desktop index without losing your settings...
you can proceed as follows:
- close Google Desktop
- delete all files except those that start with "sidebar_*.*", in the following folder:
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\application data\Google\Google Desktop\long number"
